par António Arrais The 6ª International Dog Show of Santarém is a success case in the canine world and a reference to a big number of breeders through out the Europe, contrary of the rest of the Portuguese dog shows, the number of attendances has been increasing, staying in the more inscriptions made group of the country.
Of the main factors to this happening is the big attendance of foreigners, this year big part of that number was our Spanish neighbours, who travelled waiting to attend also some of the special shows that happened this weekend, of them we can name the World Dog Show of Terriers, INTERRA. This big attendance paid of because in the 3 places of the podium, 2 were occupied by Spanish dogs, the 2nd and 3rd place and the 1st place, one portuguese dog.
The 3rd place was occupied by the Wire-haired Fox Terrier, YAHON V D BISMARCKQUELLE owned by Julio Beberide Garcia, while the 2nd place was occupied by the Pointer, LIDA DI GREKO ATTIKIS owned by Ana Mestos e Carlos Salas.
The 1st place stayed in Portugal, being awarded to the Labrador Retriever bitch, ROCHEBY SWEET SUE, owned by Nuno Ribeiro, that in spite of her youth is already a big reference in the breed.
