par António ArraisThe dog show of the North has been keeping from year to year quality levels that make this show to be considered one of the most important Portuguese dog shows.
One consequence of this is the elevated number of catalogue inscriptions (most signed in Portuguese dog show), being surprising the dogs inscribed from out of Portugal who reached this year 42% of the total, showing that this opinion is shared beyond borders.
Logically to all this success a great organization is fundamental, and there are many factors that contribute for that, like the excellent conditions of the facilities used, the roads and parking places and the many judges and their quality.
Another thing that has been bothering the organizations is to create ways to attract as many dog related companies and visitors to the shows.
This year besides the possibility of seeing different dog breeds and agility exhibitions, the public had another attraction, the presentation of the new Portuguese dog breed, the so talked about “Cão de Gado Transmontano”.
In this article you can see and appreciate several photos of these breed dogs, which had a huge attendance for a breed that is just starting to appear in dog shows. It’s necessary to point that most of these dogs are active working dogs, and accumulate the daily tasks of a working dog (guarding flocks) and in the weekends participate in beauty dog shows.
For all referred above we can honestly affirm that the Portuguese Kennel Club is still doing an admirable job in the organizing of the dog shows.
