The West Coast Rottweiler Club of Western Australia (Inc) is the official State Breed Club, affiliated with the National Rottweiler Council (Australia), the Canine Association of Western Australia (CAWA) and through CAWA with the Australian National Kennel Council.
The Club began it's life as the Rottweiler Club of WA in 1984, but the name had to be changed when incorporated on instructions from the Commissioner for Corporate Affairs.
Our Patroness is Mrs. Clara Hurley of Powderhorns Rottweilers in the United States of America.
The objects of the Club are:
(a) To promote, protect, advance and improve the Rottweiler breed.
(b) To promote and facilitate responsible ownership of Rottweilers.
(c) To educate and encourage members, breeders, exhibitors and judges to abide by the Standard approved for the Rottweiler by the Australian National Kennel Council.
(e) To encourage, foster and facilitate scientific research relating to dogs and in particular relating to Rottweilers and the eradication of hereditary diseases.
(f) To act as the prime representative of Western Australian Rottweiler fanciers in dealing with Federal, State and Local Governments.
(g) To promote and encourage the training and exhibition of Rottweilers.
(h) To encourage and facilitate the participation of Western Australian Rottweiler fanciers in international and interstate Rottweiler events.
(i) To foster relations with other clubs having similar objects.
A great deal of the club's efforts are directed towards the improvement of the Rottweiler, particularly in respect of the elimination of hereditary diseases. All club members are required to comply with a strict Code of Ethics and comply with all National Rottweiler Council (Australia) requirements before breeding their dogs.
